In Yilan, Taiwan, where mountains meet the sea, the area is often shrouded in mist. Amidst this foggy landscape lies a coffee shop nestled in the middle of rice fields – GK Coffee

Outside GK Coffee hangs a large sign reading ”Ping An Ju“ (Peaceful Residence), which is also the name of the B&B by the owner. The coffee shop welcomes not only B&B guests but also Forcign Independent Tourist. On any given day, patrons leaving the shop often carry two or three bags of coffee beans. GK Coffee has become a part of daily life for the people of Yilan.
Gary Liao, the owner of GK Coffee, started as a salesman before opening the café. Initially, coffee was merely a medium for him to connect and converse with clients. However, once he began making coffee himself, he committed to the principle of providing customers with a healthy and high-quality cup of coffee. Gary even traveled to Germany to train at the PROBAT factory to master the art of coffee roasting. In 2023, he won the Brewing Championship at the Taipei leg of the TBC Coffee Challenge and served as a sensory judge for the DKSH Probat Roasting Competition. He has also achieved outstanding results in coffee evaluations. By meticulously overseeing the quality of every cup of coffee from start to finish, Gary embodies his mission of creating truly healthy and excellent coffee.

GK coffee外頭掛著大大的「平安居」，是老闆所經營的民宿，咖啡館不只有民宿的客人可以消費，也有接散客，那天從店裡離開的客人，每一位都拿著兩三袋咖啡豆離去，GK coffee已經變成宜蘭人的日常。

GK coffee的老闆廖光俊Gary，開咖啡館之前當業務時，一開始咖啡對他來說，只是業務上可以跟人談心交流的媒介，開始做咖啡後秉持著讓客人可以喝一杯健康好咖啡的精神，Gary還到了德國PROBAT原廠學習烘豆。2023 TBC咖啡師挑戰賽沖煮賽拿到台北站冠軍，並且擔任DKSH Probat烘豆賽的感官評審，參加咖啡評鑑也屢創佳績，把每一杯咖啡的品質從頭到尾掌控好，正呼應了他想做一杯健康好咖啡的精神。
